Meadowhall Shopping Centre, Sheffield
Our Client: Jefferson Sheard
Value £7+million
June 2005 saw the start of a two year refurbishment, planned to make this major
shopping centre even more exciting for visitors. The ceilings, lighting
and inter-floor
bulkheads are being remodelled to bring in more natural light, with new lifts
and escalators, state-of-the-art ventilation and new soft
seating areas.
Alan McCourt of Hickton is helping to ensure that the quality of finish
matches the striking design of this major refurbishment.

Lincoln Museum: The Collection
Our Client – Panter Hudspith Architects
Value - £12.5 million
This elegant museum was designed to reflect the natural incline on which it is
set and has many interesting features including its internal ‘whispering wall’.
Much of the building was built of local Lincolnshire materials, also featuring
French Pouillenay stone. The carefully crafted view of the cathedral from the
reception area is stunning.
Brian Crisp, one of Hickton's award winning Clerks of Works, supported the project
team to achieve excellent standards in design and construction quality. The
finished project was shortlisted for the Gulbenkian prize and won the RIBA award 2006 in the new public buildings category and the 2006 overall winner in the Cocrete Society awards.
